I collect sewing machines and accessories, fabrics, baby layette items, school supplies, medicines, etc. for Sierra Leone. They are the poorest country in the world, barring Haiti, perhaps, right now.

I have an old Singer touch and sew that is in pretty good working order with all it’s attachments. Would love to donate it? Please let me know how? where? etc.
Let me know if you are anywhere between Capac (Imlay City Area) and Toledo along I69 and I23. That is my route, but I can go other ways if I have to or meet you somewhere.
I am glad to have another one to go since the faceplate of one I sent got lost between here and camp and I haven’t found it yet.

I have 5 more machines to go to Sierra Leone. These are used in ministry there to help women learn a skill to earn money and keep themselves from trafficking slavery. I just learned of the special significance of our sewing kits that we send – (just an old greeting card with pins, needles, safety pins, thread, etc.) – they are presented at Women’s Institute as part of the teaching of how to be good wives and mothers. The Institutes are a Christian alternative to the tribal rites that include mutilation and much physical suffering and pain. Keep sending them in. They are a blessing!
